Patience Tawengwa holds an MA in International Film Business from the University of Exeter and London Film School. Patience has won multiple awards for her short films and theatre in Zimbabwe. Patience is the recipient of the 2022 Sargent Disc Award for her work in the MAIFB program. She has produced and directed documentaries for various non-profit organisations. Her theatrical endeavours have transcended borders, with performances touring in South Africa, Zambia, Algeria, Scotland, Ireland, and Sweden. Patience adapted the work of Swedish playwright August Strindberg, reinterpreting the classic play "Comrades" within a Zimbabwean context to commemorate the 100 years of Strindberg's anniversary. She has served on Zimbabwe's National Arts and Merits Awards adjudication board in the theatre category. Patience previously worked as a producer of short-form entertainment news for the Pan-African entertainment channel Scoop Network Africa. She has developed her skills through participation in renowned programs such as the Berlinale Talent Campus, HIFA-Direct British Council Mentorship, Hollywood in Focus, and the CineFAM Co-Production Accelerator. Patience is currently based in London and has worked in production management roles. She works as an Associate Producer, creating branded content about the positive impact of technology while actively pursuing independent projects. Patience serves as the board chairperson at Edzai Isu Trust, an arts organisation in Zimbabwe dedicated to leveraging the power of the arts for social change.
